Building Something That Matters
Starting your own company is one of the most challenging and rewarding decisions you can make. For me, launching WorldWage Services wasn’t just a business decision it was a mission. A mission to make payroll easier, more transparent, and more accessible for sole directors, startups, and small businesses across the UK.
But getting here has taken time. And a lot of work. This blog post is a chance for me to share the journey so far, and why I believe what we’re doing at WorldWage really matters.
The Problem I Kept Seeing
Before WorldWage existed, I worked closely with many small businesses, sole traders, and new company directors. And again and again, I saw the same problems:
Business owners didn’t understand payroll.
They were overpaying for services they didn’t need.
They weren’t compliant without even realising it.
They felt stuck with old-school accountants and long-term contracts.
Payroll is not a one system fits all solution
Payroll shouldn’t be that difficult. it definitely shouldn’t be that expensive. Most importantly of all payroll needs to progress with the times.
Taking the Leap
Starting this company wasn't something I rushed. It took months of planning, research, designing the service, pricing it right, learning what clients truly needed (not just what the industry had always offered).
I spent evenings studying legislation, testing software, talking to potential customers, and figuring out how to make something lean, affordable, and easy to use without cutting corners on compliance or support.
Building From the Ground Up
WorldWage Services officially launched in 2024, but the foundations were laid long before that. I spent time creating:
A professional, trusted brand that small businesses could rely on
Clear, fixed pricing models starting from just £15/month for directors only
A simple onboarding process with welcome packs, contracts, and direct communication
An automated system to keep everything efficient without losing the human touch
Most of all, I wanted to offer something that felt personal. Where new business owners could get real advice from someone who understands the grind. Where directors could text or call and get support quickly. Where payroll didn’t feel like a "headache" where it should be easy and stress free.
Every Client is a Milestone
Every time a new client signs up, I see it as a huge achievement not just for the business, but for what it represents: trust.
I know that when a director chooses WorldWage, they’re putting their company’s payroll (and often their own salary) in my hands. That’s something I never take lightly.
We’re still new, still growing, but we’re building a community of business owners who are passionate, driven, and want to focus on their business not on payroll admin.
Looking Ahead
WorldWage isn’t just about payroll. It’s about empowering small business owners to run their companies better. It’s about supporting people from day one, helping them get paid properly, and making compliance simple and affordable.
The journey hasn’t been easy. But I’d do it all again.
Thanks for being part of it.
